    Summary
from the Australian War Memorial Museum's Collection
"Fundraising badge produced to support the work of the local Repatriation Funds. Such badges were sold in trams, buses, at railways stations and at rallies to raise money for the stated cause. This undated example is associated with the Repatriation Day organised by the South Australian State War Council and is likely to date from 1917 - 1918. The Australian Soldiers' Repatriation Fund (SA Branch) raised 37,722 pounds during the war, while smaller local Repatriation Committees raised an additional 11,00 pounds. The piping shrike, or magpie, the official state bird, features prominently in the badge design."
