    Description

    Vintage Maruto Red and White Plate Made in Occupied Japan Red Willow Tree Birds. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
    I am a serious collector of stuff - at this point I have decided I have WAAAYYY too much stuff. And since I now find myself in need of a new roof, NOW is the time to start cutting back.
    This vintage Red Willow Plate with a 9 1/4" diameter is marked with the brand/company "Maruto" and was made in Occupied Japan. I am not a true collector of Chinaware and I have decided this plate should find a new home where someone else will appreciate it much more than I.
    This plate DOES have a chip (see photo) AND there is one place where the paint appears to have been smeared a bit before it underwent glazing (also pictured in a photo). There are a LOT of cracks in the glaze (see photos), but as completely as those cracks cover the plate, I am *guessing* those would be a normal part of whatever process the company used - or possibly they had a batch lot with a faulty glazing.
    As I said, I am NOT a chinaware collector - I am unsure how much the chip or the cracks (in the glaze - not the plate) would affect the value or collect-ability of this plate, but I wanted to make it available before I decide to take it to a thrift store (which might just toss it out - because they probably have plenty of plates WITHOUT chips) in case anyone WOULD like to have this plate for a part of their collection :)
