    Description

This beautiful bridle rosette pair was probably used on carriage horses that delivered goods to mercantiles in the early 20
    th
century, a creative way to market their product for sure.  These were traditional decorations on bridles for driving horses, and they also served as a functional way to hold the headstall together. These became quite vogue during the Victorian era in the 1880s and matched pairs are quite scarce today. Light lavender back with “Rewitzer’s ACME Condition Powders” in black silhouette under glass, bronze trim and back with intact leather strap keepers. Excellent vintage condition with minimal scratching and deterioration. C 1920s, each measures 1 ¾ round x 1 inch deep
