For sale here is a Batak (Indonesia/ Sumatra)U
sed by ritual specialists. Consisting of three sections; at the top an elaborate carved wood stopper depicting a reptilian mythical creature on the back of two humans who rides a singa (a composite mythical creature). On the top of is a sitting bird; in the middle a cylindrical bone container finely incised with an augury chart; at the bottom a carved seated human figure.
Beautifully done.

were taken with and without flash so a slight color variation is to be expected.
