Papua New Guinea mask Vintage LG 30" Wood Sepik River Region Evil Spirit Shield.   Measures about 30" x 14".  Masks of thie type are not worn, they are protective faces to keep evil spirits and sorcerer's spells away from the village.  This piece comes from an estate where the owner traveled the world, including Papua New Guinea in the 60's.  This piece is an early vintage piece, if not antique.  Piece is hand carved, hand painted, hand knotted.  Seashell eyes, free floating nose ring.  I have another piece listed from this estate as well.
