Pair of Moorcroft Floral Cabinet Vases Iris and Orchid Jewel Tones Tiny 4"

Description

For sale here is a pair of beautiful hand-painted Moorcroft cabinet vases.
Standing 4" tall and 3" wide with openings measuring about 2", this colorful duo displays the high-quality painting typical of vintage Moorcroft.
These are a complementary but not identical pair.  Each has a green background, with one being much lighter on the neck.  Both transition from green to a deep blue toward the bottom.
They both feature an iris and an orchid, each clearly from the same inspirational drawing but executed a little differently.
Artistic license flourishes in the decorators' choice of colors, with one choosing more dramatic contrasts, particularly on the orchid.
Condition is excellent on the darker necked vase, and good on the lighter.  Magnification shows both have light crazing, common in glazed pottery where the clay cools at a different rate than the glaze.
The lighter-necked vase has a crack on the inside rim which is shown in the pictures. (unfortunate and priced accordingly)
It seems to be only on the inside and does not go through.  The darker necked piece is in excellent condition.  Both show typical handling wear on the bottom commensurate with age.
These are both marked "MOORCROFT / MADE IN ENGLAND" which dates them to sometime between 1950 and 1986.
