For sale an old massive inner ear of a "Moby Dick-fish" called a Tympanic Bulla. This is a real one and no resin piece. It has an inscription 'Salvesen' and a drawing of a moby dick. See text below of explanation as Salvesen is the name of a whalingstation. Estimated 1900 -1930's
Coming from the estate from an ex-whaler Jan Vantook who worked at a whalingstation Salvesen &Co in the Faroe islands. Most pieces in the listing are from him. He served on a ship starting at age 23 in 1934 until 1950.
