Old Polynesian MOP Shell necklace (Polynesia,Marquesas,Fiji,tonga,hawai,maori)

Description

For sale an old charming Polynesian necklace with many small mother -of-pearl shells attached. Quite an interesting piece and the shells have this old 'golden' glow to them (only by age) and the string is umcircled. Possibly Society islands? Coming with the stand. Estimated 1850- 1900
Coming from the estate from an ex-whaler Jan Vantook who worked at a whalingstation Salvesen &Co in the Faroe islands. Most pieces in the listing are from him. He served on a ship starting at age 23 in 1934 until 1950.
