Description
Maruto Mu Ware Cottage Tea Pot with Thatched Roof Made in Occupied JapanThis is an adorable and collectible little tea pot from Maruto Mu Ware in Japan. It is marked Occupied Japan on the bottom with a T and circle around the T. It is a brownish cottage with a thatched roof. The handle and spout resemble tree trunks. It stands about 5 inches in height and measures about 8 inches from spout to handle.
Upon first glance this little tea pot is in great condition. However, because of the age there are some problems I will list here and have shown in last three pictures. The bottom of the lid has some age cracks around the edge. These don't show when sitting on the tea pot. I've shown these in last picture. The top of the tea pot has a crack in three corners. Again these don't show when lid is on. And the very bottom of the inside has some surface cracks in the corner. These don't show through to the outside. The lady I got this from has had since the 1940's so it does have some age. However, none of these defects show when the lid is on and it is sitting pretty on your shelf with your collectibles.
