    Description

    Make
your own G-scale (might be used for O scale too) single rib roofing. I can show you how. Each panel you make has 5 ribs. Cut the aluminum narrower and get less ribs. Length can be up to about 6 1/2" long depending on length of sheet you cut. 36 gauge aluminum works really well. It can be found on both ebay or Amazon. I've included a sheet from ebay where I found mine but shop around for the best price. It usually is 12" wide and either 10 or 50 ft. long. You can use pop or beer cans too. In the instruction which I include I show you how to cut them and then how to take the temper out of the metal by heating them. But with the pop or beer cans you usually can only get roofing about 3" in length unless you know someone who drinks the BIG cans of beer or something like Arizona ice tea. These cans when cut apart yields a nice sheet of aluminum. I use a cheap paper cutter (you can use scissors too) which will cut the aluminum nicely and a vise (I use a 5" vise but a smaller one will work too) to complete the "pressing" process. The instructions cover all of these things (5 pages with pictures and step by step instructions). Either metal is very paintable or leave it alone. Each press comes with 4 pieces of metal with it. 1 each of pop or beer can and 1 of 36 gauge aluminum and 1 each which were made on this press. Rib roofing takes some planning to put on a roof. Usually work from the middle out. And if you are actually doing the building of the structure plan the roof to be the length needed so the ribs come out perfectly. NO RETURNS ON THIS ITEM! (Someone might think of making roofing and then returning the press. Yes there are some who would do that.) If you buy it; you own it. But it works. I have included pictures of a small building I put it on.
