Engraved award to Golf Professional Jock Hutchison from the Illinois P.G.A. "PRESENTED TO JOCK HUTCHISON FOR HIS OUTSTANDING DEVOTION TO THE GAME OF GOLF AND FOR HIS UNTIRING EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF HIS FELLOW PROFESSIONAL THIS AWARD IS HEREBY PRESENTED BY THE ILLINOIS P.G.A. BILL GORDON PRES." Award is 2 1/8" x 3 3/8" and in nice used condition, it is not magnetic and looks to be brass. I have not tried to polish, but, I would guess it can be. Jock Hutchison won the 1920 P.G.A. Championship and the 1921 British Open Championship, the 1921 North South Open, 1923 Western Open, and the Illinois P.G.A. Championship 1923, 1925 and 1926. He was the long time golf professional at The Glen View Club. In 1963 Jock and Fred McLeod were the first Honorary Starters at the Masters for about 10 years until health became an issue. The presenter, Bill Gordon was the 1955 Illinois Golf Professional of the Year and served as President of The Illinois P.G.A. for 7 years. This is a really nice one of a kind award, I see no sign on the back that this was ever attached to anything. Guaranteed as described.
