    Health-Glo Electric Heat Radiation Machine Brochure c.1930's
    This little booklet describes the Health-Glo machine made by The Standard Electric Corporation of 11 West 42nd St., New York. It was an electric wand shaped machine with a disc on the end. On the first page it makes clear that it's not a vibrator or a Violet Ray machine, a quack device using electric currents to cure diseases. The Health-Glo just used heat radiation, much like the heating pads still in use.   The heat was supposed to increase the flow of blood, flush poisons from the body and restore damaged tissue. it was supposed to help everything from rheumatism, insomnia, pimples, asthma, brain fag(?), gout, headache, jaundice and writer's cramp. booklet measures 4 1/8 by 6 inches and has 14 pages. Cover has some foxing and insect damage near the spine. Fist and last pages have some foxing.
