    Description
This is a very nice Wilson Bradoon double loose ring snaffle  made by Greg Darnall Originals with a 3/8 inch diameter x 5 inch wide copper twisted wire mouthpiece.  The large rings measure 3-1/4 inches in diameter and the small headstall rings measure 2-1/4 inches in diameter.  This is a nice light weight bit at 9 ounces and the twisted wire copper link dogbone mouthpiece will increase salivation and encourage a lighter mouth.  The Wilson snaffle bit is great to encourage lightness and feel in a horse that needs a little reminder to respect your hands.  This snaffle will make a great tool to add to your training bit collection.
The four rings of the Wilson snaffle bit can add extra pressure and provide more control than a plain snaffle, as the rings encourage the horse to move laterally.  The bit is most commonly seen on driving horses, although it can be used for riding, the lateral encouragement is beneficial for turning a driving vehicle.  The bit helps a horse become more responsive to quick turns, especially for show jumpers and speed gaming competitors.  The Wilson snaffle works on the bars of the mouth, and is slightly more severe than a loose ring snaffle when the reins are attached to both rings.  The headstall of the bridle may be attached to the two loose rings.  The severity is increased greatly if the reins are only attached to the large outside rings.  When the reins are pulled, the two inside rings squeeze the sides of the horse's cheeks rather than engaging only the horse's bars or corners of the mouth.
