Fijian "Vunikau" Rootstock War Club.......very old, 1830s/40s.

Description

This one is an old, Fijian "Vunikau" Ironwood club - from the early 19th century, 1830s/40s.
This old tough boy has experienced battle -- many battles!
Beautiful all natural surface patina.
Well incised Tavatava on the grip handle.
A long period old battle related age crack on the head - which, over time, has extended down along almost the entire length of the shaft.
Overall,  in solid and sturdy condition after all these years!
This is a very nice and old example - one of the oldest around.
Some remnants of sennit coir bindings......
Metal stand is NOT included.
Measures - approximately 46 inches (117 cms) length........width of head - 5 inches
