    Description

This is a beautiful and very old (late18th  - early 19th) single pendant from a type of necklace known as  - Vuasagale.
A very pleasant dark yellow/golden patina attained via the old traditional coconut oiling and smoking process.
Four stone drilled holes are present through which sennit cordage would've passed  - once upon a time.
These type of objects are hard to find
. Complete specimens (with some 12 odd pendants), in good condition, are worth around ,000.
The fifth photo depicts a Fijian chief/warrior sporting another type of necklace called a "Wasekaseka" - a close cousin of the "Vuasagale" - I wasn't able to find a photo of a Fijian wearing this particular type of necklace, on the internet.
*A truly lovely specimen, with a very smooth surface; has pleasant tactility, when handling.
This specimen measures  - approximately 4 inches long
