Crocodile Canoe Prow Papua New Guinea Tanmanum Tribe Hand Carved From Front of Dug Out Canoe Sepik River
Hand carved by the Tanmanum Jungle Tribe of Papua New Guinea from the front of a dug out canoe.  The tribes of the New Guinea Jungle revere the crocodile and as such carve them on the front of their dugout canoes.  This was sawn off from one such canoe.  Acquired in Cairns, Queensland Australia in November 1987.  Brought there by a missionary who acquired a few items.  Believed to be about 65 years old.  Pictures describe this item as this is the actual item you will receive.
