    Description

Baseball Stadium Wausau vs. Niagara, Wisconsin WI 1908 RPPC
For bid is an original, real photo postcard of a baseball game between Niagara, WI (batting) and a team from Wausau, WI, played in Niagara on 7-4-08. I know that Niagara’s opponent is Wausau because I have a companion card (to be listed next week) showing Wausau batting. The image is dated 1908 and the text on the back of the card indicates the game was played on July 4th. While Wausau fielded a team in the Class D Wisconsin-Illinois League (in fact they were league champions in 1908), I don’t believe the teams pictured are professional because Niagara, a very small town, never fielded a minor league team.
The card was published by B.H. Dingman, Plymouth, WI (pub #15) in 1908. The postcard measures 5 7/16 x 3 7/16 inches and is postmarked 10-6-08. It is in
    VERY
    GOOD
    condition with moderate corner wear.
I am liquidating my long-time collection of stadium postcards and will be listing new items weekly as time permits.
