Antique or Vintage Oceanic Handcarved Wooden Comb.8,5x3"

Description

I suppose this could be African, but the artwork doesn't feel like it.  Very well carved designs. On one side, a human figure in the center is surrounded by 4 lizards.  On the other, 8 stylized human figures in a circle are surrounded by 4 animals, one a spotted cat, one a reptile, probably a crocodile, and two that I can't guess at - they do not have reptilian skin and do not have spots, so they are something else.  Other decorations are scrolls and other geometric figures.
I don't remember where we got this.  We bought a number of things from Australia and New Guinea from an anthropologist who lived there, and quite a bit from two African sources when Neta had her big antiques store in the 90s, but I have no memory or record of this.
