    Description

    Fine early American art pottery vase by Pacific Stoneware Co of Portland, Oregon.
    No marks I can see on base but no question about maker.
    This vase was hand or wheel thrown c 1900.
    It is made from red clay and glazed in an exceptional, exceptional (see photos) black glaze.
    It measures 7 3/8" high, 4 3/8" wide at top and 3 1/2" wide at base.
    The exceptional black glaze has heavy crystalizing which create a running or dripping effect both on the exterior and interior.
    The crystals or glaze effects creates a look of matte over gloss or almost a silvery effect but still black.
    Though these vases were made for practical, functional purposes at Pacific Stoneware Co you would think you were looking at a piece of Fulper pottery with Fulpers exotic glazes. Subtle, advanced and gorgeous.
    This pot has been well cared for and is in very good antique condition.
    No chips, co cracks, no repair, etc.
    Does have normal hand made antique manufacturing flaws as expected.
